Horticultural Investments

Pounamu Peak Orchard was the first orchard we purchased, in February 2015.  The ownership is arranged as a Limited Partnership, with five partners.  The orchard is located on No 3 Road in Te Puke.  It has 5.67 hectares of Hayward (Green) Kiwifruit and 1.41 hectares of Gold3 (SunGold) Kiwifruit.

Production is well above average with good dry matter and size.  Harvest for SunGold is typically late April and for Green, typically late May with fruit storage being targeted. 

The Partnership owns Zespri Group Ltd shares in proportion to production.

There are currently no investment opportunities in this orchard.

Golden Tui Orchard was purchased in October 2015.  The ownership is arranged as a Limited Partnership, with ten partners.  The orchard is located in Canon Road, Katikati.  It has 2.1 hectares of Hayward (Green) Kiwifruit and 7.01 hectares of Gold3 (SunGold) Kiwifruit.

Production is well above average with good dry matter and size.  Harvest is generally mid-season (with some blocks available in KiwiStart).

Over the 2016 and 2017 winters we have significantly upgraded the structures, converting wooden pergola to heavy duty AgBeam, replacing some lower duty AgBeam and narrowing some bay spacings. Some drainage and roading work has also been completed.

The Partnership owns Zespri Group Ltd shares in proportion to production.

There are currently no investment opportunities in this orchard.

Our foray into the apple industry commenced with the purchase of an orchard in June 2016.  The orchard is on Dartmoor Road, Puketapu, Napier.  The orchard was expanded with the purchase of the surrounding vineyard in June 2017 and converted into an intensive apple orchard in winter 2017 and 2018.  The total orchard area is 40 hectares.

In partnership with Freshco, we have planted Breeze, Red Sonia and Pink Lady varieties. We see strong growth opportunities for proprietary apple cultivars partnered with an export-focused marketer.
